Yes! Dogs Welcome. In Fact, Please Bring Them!

Yes! Dogs Welcome. In Fact, Please Bring Them!

So. The temps are dropping and the snow is falling. And you just realized that last year's coat won't work this year. Or maybe this is your first winter with your hound and they don't have a coat (but they do look mighty cold...).

Great! We're happy to help! And yes, you can bring your dog to the shop. In fact, we prefer it. Here's why:
  1. Most people (me included!) don't know their dog's measurements off the top of their head. If your dog is with you, it's not a problem! We can try on a few things, figure out what size and fit works best, and choose what works for everyone involved.
  2. Different coats fit...differently. Even if you know your dog's back is 21 inches long, the chest of that one super-cute coat might be a little too tight. Or too loose. Or too difficult to get on and off. If your dog is with you, it's not a problem! We can try on a few things, figure out what size and fit works best, and choose what works for everyone involved. (We have more than one super-cute coat in the shop, I promise!)
  3. Some dogs don't like to wear coats, even if they need them. You might really want to get a onesie to keep your dog's legs warm and dry. Your dog might have other ideas. Which means you may need to shift your priorities and settle for a cozy blanket-style coat instead. These are the things you learn when your dog is with you. We can try on a few things, figure out what size and fit works best, and choose what works for everyone involved. (Are you starting to see a pattern?!)
  4. We want to coo over your dog and feed them treats (if they're allowed treats). True story.
If your dog doesn't do well with people (or with other dogs), that's okay. We can set up a private shopping appointment on Wednesdays or after hours. If that still doesn't work for you, that's okay. Bring in your dog's measurements and we'll do the best we can. We'll measure the heck out of all the coats that you like, and compare them to your dog's measurements.

Regardless, let us know what matters most to you so we have a solid starting point. (Yes, more than one thing can matter to you most!)
  • Price.
  • Warmth.
  • Weatherproof.
  • Easy on/off.
  • Chest coverage.
  • Reflective piping.
  • Harness notch.
  • Cute.
Our goal is to keep everyone warm and happy this winter. And we're excited to help you find the perfect coat for your hound.

Bring on the snow!
